ViTaWo Meets UKE. Meeting with the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf

The project “Four-Day Workweek in Hospitals,” funded by the Hans Böckler Foundation, investigates the (re)organization of work, communication, and digitization in everyday clinical practice. On April 23, Maximiliane Wilkesmann and Katharina Hast, together with the project partners from the VITAWO project, visited the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) to discuss flexible, innovative, and employee-friendly approaches to organizing work in hospitals. As part of its workplace health management program, the “UKE Inside” working group has been developing and testing innovative approaches to making work schedules more flexible and improving working conditions for about a decade. The experience gained and structures established there offer valuable insights into the practical implementation of work reorganization in everyday hospital life and open up avenues for research and further development.
